Poole, Robert E.

Robert and Karen are veteran missionaries, who began their journey in 1991 as associates in missions to Nigeria. They were then appointed as intermediate missionaries to the Africa Impact Team (AIT), which was a mobile, fully self-contained evangelism/church plant ministry. While in Cameroon with the AIT, Robert became the principal of the UPC College of Theology and both he and Karen taught there. Robert also contributed to the leadership of the national board. After resigning, they returned to Fayetteville, North Carolina, to assist Jesse Williams. Robert and Karen then pastored for nine years in West Virginia as well as being DGMD for five of those years. They then assisted Kenneth Kelley in Arizona. The Pooles transitioned back to Global Missions as as associates in missions to Lesotho. In June 2020, they met the Global Missions board and were appointed as career missionaries to Lesotho. Their desire is to return and build a Bible school to equip young men and women with the tools they need to reach their country with the gospel of Jesus Christ.
