Luke took his first AIM trip to Latvia in 2011 and continued traveling back thereafter, with the exception of one year when he took time off to marry Larissa. In 2015, they were appointed associate missionaries to Latvia and received their full appointment in 2016. Three years later, Luke was appointed president and superintendent of the work in Latvia. Currently, the Havenses are focused on small groups, teaching, as well as building connections with friends and neighbors as part of their ministry.
