In 1978, the Ritchies were appointed missionaries to the Windward Islands; later, French Guiana was added to their duties. Being the pioneer missionaries to this area, their first term was spent starting churches on the islands of St. Lucia, Dominica, St. Vincent, Barbados, Grenada, Guadeloupe and Martinique. Subsequent terms have been dedicated to the development of these works through Bible school, Sunday school and evangelism. Henry and Sharon pastor the headquarters church in Fort-de-France, Martinique, and Henry serves as the field superintendent of the UPC of the Windward Islands.
